French manufacturer Boxer Design has introduced new 1000cc turbocharged V-Twin bike concept at the 2011 Salon de la Moto show in Paris. The Superbob Boxer Design Concept has been developed in partnership with Akira Technologies, the firm behind Inmotec’s V4 MotoGP engine.

The Superbob Boxer Design Concept is powered by a 88-degree V-Twin engine that develops 158 hp at 9500rpm and 92 ft-lb. of torque at 8000rpm. The Superbob Boxer is equipped with cylinders integrated into a semi-dry motor casing with horizontal matting plane and distribution by belts. This V-twin superbike claims a curb weight of 199 kg (438 pounds) including a full 16 l (4.2 gallon) fuel tank. The Superbob features a Carbon monocoque frame, single-sided swingarm, duolever front suspension geometry, and premium components.

The Boxer Design said that ” The Boxer carbon frame brings stiffness and lightness; assisted by the structural engine it establishes the link between the ground liaison systems. This frame also integrates other functions as air box, steering guidance and anchoring of the high tech suspensions systems: Double triangle fork and single sided swing arm with progressive suspension”. The Superbob Boxer Design Concept is also fitted with 320mm double disc brakes with radial-mount four-piston calipers up front and a twin-piston caliper gripping a single 245mm disc at the rear
