Brammo Empulse Electric Motorcycle
Brammo has revealed pricing and release details of new Brammo Empulse and Empulse R electric motorcycles, which both models are capable of a top speed of 160km/h (100mph) and has a maximum range of 160km (100miles) from its big 10.2 kWh battery pack. The Brammo Empulse come with price at US$16,995 while the Brammo Empulse R is priced at $18,995. Brammo has stated that production for the Empulse R will take place first with “limited availability in June 2012 and in volume by Q3 2012.” The Empulse is expected to arrive in early 2013.
The Brammo Empulse Electric Motorcycle is powered by Brammo Empulse Electric Motorcycle a 10.2 kWh lithium-ion battery, 6-speed gearbox, and a permanent magnet AC motor generating 40 kW (54 hp) at 8,200 rpm and maximum torque of 63 Nm. The Brammo Empulse Electric Motorcycle includes Brembo performance brakes, Marchesini wheels with Avon 3D Ultra Sport tires, Marzocchi front fork and Sachs shocks on the back. The Brammo Empulse is equipped with semi adjustable front and rear suspension and its body work is all plastic, while the Brammo Empulse R features a carbon fiber headlight shroud, front and rear fenders, top panel and the rear light housing.
Brammo promised that of the first 1000 people who pre ordered an Empulse, one would be selected at random to receive their motorcycle free of charge. Last week from the first 1000 orders six finalists were selected. At the event, Craig Bramscher rolled a dice and Jueiming Chen was the lucky winner.
